Preaching to the Choir: Social Media Lessons from a

Community of Marketers

At Raven Tools, we have a unique (and OK, kind of scary) social media challenge: marketing to marketers. They know all the tricks. They've read all the studies. But precisely because of our smart and savvy audience, we've developed a stronger social media strategy--one that that cuts out the gimmicks and gives our community what it wants. Takeaways:

  • Raven's view of social media
  • Some tidbits from Raven's social media strategy
  • Tools that help manage the social media workload

About Brannan Atkinson, APR -- Raven's chief marketing officer. He joined Raven after nearly 20 years in the public relations field. Raven is committed to helping online marketers do more while spending less for the online tools they need to do their jobs. Outside of work, Brannan can be found on the golf course or at the dog park with his wife and three Pugs.

Wonderful, informative presentation done is a laid back stye, easy to understand and you didn't feel like you were being pitched to. Brannen is very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining how we can implement various tools to improve and grow our business.

Since I have never heard of them before, they didn't show at least a summary of their product, maybe they are just really conservative. Good speaker, liked his humor and that he smiled every now and then ;).

Excellent content, I was familiar with much of it however. I expect other attendees got even more out of the presentation than myself. Great questions from members as well!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
