I learned about you while searching meetup groups aligned with my personal and professional goals. I have set learning goals that I need to accomplished by a certain time. One of those goals is to learn social media so that I become better aware of the quality of service I or my clients receive from contractors or consultants.
I am a sustainable supply chain professional. I audit production processes in manufacturing and service companies.
Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, Pinterest, youtube, (which I notice is not a choice below). How does the group define E-bay? Would you consider what Ebay does to be social media marketing?
I hope to benefit from being a member of DFW Social Media Marketing in two ways. First, I want to apply what I learn to my businesses to get better results. Second, I want to learn other ways to exploit social media in the value chain.
"use". Hummm. Let me give a comment about my immediate gut response to your choice of the word "use." That word is too broad, because is pregnant with different meaning. Passive use of Facebook for me means checking in to see what my "friends" are doing. I "use" facebook in a different manner when compared to linkedin. The use of linkedin is creeping into ways that I do not like. I have noticed some fortune 500 corporations "using" linked to satisfy certain goals while legitimate in their eyes are clearly inauthentic to the discerning viewer. So, there is quite a bit of using going on. So, my "interaction" with social media has not been as directed and strategic as I would like. So, I am here to learn best practices for interacting with social media to achieve better results.
I am a publisher of a magazine that recognizes African American Achievement in the DFW area and the owner of an international consulting business focused on sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
