The Art Institute of Dallas (map)
WordPress began as software for blogging, but it has evolved over the years to become a powerful platform for building other kinds of web sites as well. Using the core Pages feature, you can create hierarchical content outside of the blog chronology. Randy Hoyt walks us through the web site for a course he teaches at the University of Texas at Dallas, demonstrating the plugins, page templates, and other techniques he uses to run this non-bloggy site in WordPress.
Randy teaches web development and web publishing (including WordPress) in the Emerging Media & Communications program at the University of Texas at Dallas. He builds web sites for clients through his web development agency Amesbury Web, and he writes about mythology and fantasy literature at Journey to the Sea.
