Dear WordPress Rockstar,
This month I invite you to take the Red Pill. No one can be told who Giovanni Gallucci is…you have to see him for yourself. Tomorrow, at our DFW WordPress Meetup, he will show you how to Use Media to Create Sizzling SEO.
According to our intel, Giovanni has been living two lives. In one life he is a recovering .NET programmer turned online brand strategist and internet journeyman. In the other life he is a professional photographer, digital filmmaker and editor currently working on Troubadour, TX, a docu-reality TV series airing on over 100 TV stations nationwide among other projects. We've learned that Giovanni develops strategy for online marketing and audience development for forward-thinking clients interested in breaking new ground online in music, television, film, missions and causes.
Over one hundred Rockstars plan to take the Red Pill tomorrow. I promise to bring pizza, but you must promise to come early (at 1pm) and eat it. Meetup: 2pm-4pm. Afterparty: 4pm-?. RSVP at Meetup.com
New to WordPress? Then this is your month to attend the WordPress 101: Getting Started class held tomorrow morning before the Meetup, from 9:30am-1pm. WP101 is an introduction to the basics of WordPress, the "hows" & "whys" of WordPress with an in-depth look at the main features, files, and plugins. Learn to install, configure, style and extend your WordPress site using best practices. Learn how to update a WordPress site and master the art of blogging. Learn to enhance your WordPress site with plugins. Delicious hot lunch (Domino's Pizza) and snacks (chips/cookies) will be served from 1pm-2pm. Includes free admission to afternoon WordPress Meetup (2pm-4pm)—a $10 value. Register at wp.ticketleap.com. PS: I have had 96% fewer WordPress questions since we have started this training program. This gives me more time for other activities, like planning the two-day mega Emerging Tech Conference on WordPress, content marketing, and social media.
Upcoming Local Events:
May 4: Beer, Fun, and Corona SDK - The Corona SDK makes it possible to rapidly prototype and develop mobile apps on iOS, Android, Nook, and Kindle devices without needing to learn a complicated programming language. That means you can spend more time being creative. This first meeting is all about connecting and getting to know each other. Whether you're new to mobile development or you've been developing for years, this event will put you in the same room with other talented people. Building relationships is what it's all about, so come out and join us. RSVP at Meetup.com
June 23-24 - Emerging Tech Conference
Attend the Emerging Tech Conference and journey down the rabbit holes of Search Engine Marketing, WordPress, Social Media, and Online Marketing.
