Note: I (Emily Sandidge) am not affiliated with any of the classes or organization below. I am just letting everyone know of this option, so that we can get more people in our salsa meetup group actively participating in the events that our great organizers put on for all of us!! There seems to be a lot of new members asking where to learn.  There are already some GREAT options out there (Funtopia, BB Kings, Ibiza, Gaston's classes), but I wanted to provide you with another option. Hope it helps!

HOW THE SESSIONS WORK:
Beginner Salsa Class taught at Brentwood Skate Center on Monday nights, starting in September. There are usually anywhere from 150 200+ attendees at these classes, but the instructor keeps the class highly organized and efficient. Each levels class is taught in 4-week cycles. At the end of a 4-week Beginner Class, the Intermediate Salsa Class begins on Tuesdays of the following month at Treveca University. At the end of the Intermediate cycle, theAdvanced Salsa Class begins and is taught on Tuesdays of the following (3rd) month at Treveca. This will take you through 3 full months of salsa classes / dancing. At the end of the three-months, a 3-hour advanced salsa workshop will be held on Friday, December 4.

COST: $5 per class for NSDC members or $7 for non-NSDC members. (If interested in becoming a member, you must fill out an NSDC membership application and pay $35 yearly dues. However, being a member is NOT a requirement to come to these classes!)

Note: If you miss the first class or any class in the cycle, don't feel like you cannot attend the next class. During each class, you will revisit the steps taught in the previous classes. Dance Classes are taught in a group format, which means you will rotate dance partners periodically throughout the class. This technique helps you learn to lead and follow better, as well as introducing you to the other people in the class. It also means you do not need to bring a dance partner. If you have a dance partner and do not want to switch partners, that is allowed as well.

Instructor: David Wallace. He is well versed in partnership dances, having been trained professionally with Fred Astaire Studios in Atlanta GA. David has been dancing and teaching for 20 years. His background as a professional Disc Jockey allows him to provide great music variety at all of NSDC functions. David teaches a variety of dances throughout the year in these 4 week cycles, but I just wanted everyone to know about the upcoming 3-month salsa sessions, since it can benefit our meetup group.
