While we have been meeting three times a week at the center all winter, it's been a little while since we hosted a teacher for a special lecture and meditation. We're excited to announce an evening with Eric Gibson this coming Monday at the UMN Coffman Union Room 305. The event is linked here, and pasted further below. We hope to see you soon!
It should also be noted that the group meets every Monday at 7 pm in Coffman Union for short talks, and this one is being promoted here as it will go more in depth and have time for questions and answers.
An introductory talk on Buddhist Meditation and how it develops joy, compassion, and fearlessness in our minds. Hour long talk with time for questions and finished with a short, guided meditation.
Eric Gibson has been a practitioner of the Diamond Way Karma Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist lineage and a student of Lama Ole Nydahl since 1998. His big heart and joyful style have inspired many people, and Eric has always guided his friends in a natural way. In 2002, at Lama Ole Nydahl's request, he began giving formal Dharma teachings and has since traveled through the Americas and Russia sharing his experience. Eric and his wife Milla live in Minneapolis, MN, where they are active in the local Diamond Way Buddhist Center. He has a degree in Philosophy, and works as a Financial Advisor.
And if you can't make it Monday, you can always find us at our center in Uptown at 1701 West Lake St: Sundays at 6 pm, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 pm. www.diamondway.org/minneapolis
