I'm new to this whole meetup thing, and amazed at how many emails and reminders this site sends me, so I'm shy to send another reminder, but I need to for this event.
Remember that Lama Ole Nydahl speaks at the Minneapolis Central Library at 8 pm tonight. We just picked him and his team up at the airport last night, and joined dozens of friends who flew in from Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America for his tour. We really got a sense of how special this is, and I hope that you're all able to join us.
And if you really can't make it tonight, know that we'll be carrying the transmission at public meditations every Sunday at 5:45, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:45.
Our group exists to study and practice the teachings of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The group is part of over 600 centers worldwide and have been inspired and directed by Lama Ole Nydahl. The people you'll meet here are lay (no rules or vows) practitioners with families and jobs who take turns sharing the teachings at public meditations.
Each regular meditation begins with a 10 minute introductory dharma talk and is followed by a 15 minute guided meditation on the Lama. The environment is relaxed and informal and people are welcome to hang out after meditation or come a little earlier. All meetups happen at the Diamond Way Center, 1701 W Lake St. Meditations are always free, however if you find that this style is a good fit for you, you're free to donate or can choose to partake in the monthly Sangaship/membership program.
