New Meetup: Monthly Meetup

Announcing a new Meetup for The Long Beach Digital Photography/Photoshop Meetup Group!

What: Monthly Meetup

When: January 7,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $1.00 per person

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Are you a photographer who lives for the light? The moodier the better. That is your first choice this new year: Moody Light.

The Pictorialist loved them, and Ansel Adams called them the Fuzzy Wuzzies. Assignment number two: Soft and Dreamy. Break out your soft focus tricks and show us your softer side.

Assignment #3 is for you creative contemporary photographers: Weird Color. Find it weird or make it weird. Cheating in Photoshop is encouraged.

Extra Credit Assignment: Make a good title photo with your name so we know whose photographs we are looking at.

All three of these are very loose and you can illustrate the concepts in any way that pleases you. Have fun, be creative. So there you have it, three brand new choices: Moody Light, Soft and Dreamy, or Weird Color. Feel free to choose just one, or if your are ambitious, try all three. Remember that these are only suggestions, and you do not have to do the assignments. You may share any photographs that you like, but do keep them in good taste.

Please bring no more than six (6) images and a title image (this is new) to share. You may present your photographs as digital files (Cd's, thumbdrives, or memory cards), or as finished prints. Prints should be at least eight by ten inches, and larger is always better. If you do bring prints, be sure to let me know at the beginning of the meeting, so I won't forget to allow time for you to share.

For our next monthly assignments, you might be looking for: Noise, Splash, Pealing Paint. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to email or call me.

I am always looking for guest presentations for the group. If you, or someone you know, would like to do a short 15-30 minute presentation that the group would find interesting, let me know. (Please!)
