The Culture that Binds Nations - The Peranakans Shoot No. 5 - Penang Trip

The shoot at Penang is to provide opportunities for photographers to gather shots for the upcoming Causeway Exchange 2013 over at Penang in late June for the Georgetown Festival.

The trip is to allow photographers to enjoy Penang's culture and its most famous of all tourist attractions: Food. Of course the focus will be mainly on the Peranakan culture in Penang and to understand the similarities & differences between Peranakans in Singapore, Penang and Malacca.

- The itinerary may change without notice but the traveling date will be strictly adhered to.
- There may be a group of Malaysians joining us for the shoot so as to form friendships through the love of photography. It will really be an exchange!

Once the form is submitted, there will be a notification to the organiser and the organiser will give instructions on payment to the email in the form.

It will be first come first served basis. If payment is not received in a reasonable time (more than 5 working days), it is deemed that the registration has failed and will be passed to the next on the waiting list. The waiting list will use the time stamp of the form receipt to determine who comes first.

    The following things are to note:
    a) We are to meet at Terminal 2 Tigerairways counter at 6.45am. Please do not be late. Assume no check in however i have made arrangements for check-in luggage but treat it more like backup.

    b) Do pack the following if you want an idea of what we will be shooting
    - Landscape - Tripod, wide angle lens, Neutral Grad filters, trigger
    - Waterfall - tripod, wide angle lens, ND filters, trigger
    - Street Photography - 18-50mm
    - Architecture Interior - 12-50mm + Macro for artifacts
    - Model Shoot - 50mm + External flash

    c) Peronal effects such as medicine, toiletries (there will be supermarkets/shops nearby so is not a huge issue). Water bottle

    d) Laptop if you want to do backups. We supposed to have a photo critique but it may be taken over by a model shoot in traditional Peranakan Kebaya. We shall keep this open ended first.

    e) Get insurance PLEASE.
