The Culture that Binds Nations - The Peranakans Shoot No. 4 - Malacca Trip

The shoot at Malacca is to provide opportunities for photographers to gather shots for the upcoming Causeway Exchange 2013 over at Penang in late June for the Georgetown Festival.

The trip is to allow photographers to enjoy Malacca's culture. The focus will be mainly on the Peranakan culture in Malacca and to understand the similarities & differences between Peranakans in Singapore, Penang and Malacca.

Day 1 - 20 April 2013 (Saturday)
0530 Meeting up at Kranji MRT Station for Drivers. (Drivers are to pick up passengers before meeting)
0530 - 1000 Enroute to Malacca
1000 - 1200 Brunch at Chicken Rice ball
1300 - 1430 Check-in Puri Hotel & short rest
1430 - 1730 Heritage Trail:

- Baba Nonya Heritage Museum (http://amazingmelaka.com/2011/10/baba-nyonya-heritage-museum/)
- No. 8 Heeren Street Heritage Centre
- Nonya Jewellery Museum

1800 - 2000 Sunset Shoot at Melaka Straits Mosque (http://amazingmelaka.com/2011/11/melaka-straits-mosque/)
2000 - 2100 Dinner at Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine
2100 - 2200 Portuguese Square
2200 - 2300 Back to hotel and walk to Jonker Street Night Market + Night River walk
2300 and beyond Back to Hotel to shoot some more!

Day 2 - 21 April 2013 (Sunday)
0600 - 0800 Early Morning Street walk shoot (perhaps someone model in Kebaya and shoot the streets? Kris you want to do this?)
0800 - 0900 Breakfast on the streets
1000 - 1200 Shooting (may revisit museums again)
1300 - Check out
1300 - 1400 Aunty Koh's Chendol
1400 - 1500 Lunch at Nancy's
1500 - 1600 Buying Local Produce
1600 - 2000 Enroute to Singapore

The itinerary is subjected to change as some aspects needed confirmation. However the hotel and dates are confirmed so if you want to join us, please register and pay for the trip as I would need to confirm the seats for the cars and the accommodations.

Price (Twin Sharing) - 190SGD Inclusive of Accommodation at Puri Hotel, Museum entrance fees and Car Transport.

Price doesn't include insurance and food.

      Santosh: If you read the main description I did say if you are interested email me. The RSVP system, unfortunately is not honoured by quite a number of people in Singapore unlike western countries hence I don't rely on it.

      Those who emailed me, I passed them further instructions. That's how I gauge their sincerity and seriousness.
