Kedah International Photography Award (KIPA) and Langkawi Island Shoot

We are invited by Kedah International Photography Awards to participate in the competition.

My plan is to send a small contingent of SPIN members to shoot with local photographers/tour guide to bring us around to capture the beauty that is Kedah. This is fully supported by Kedah Tourism.

The two conditions are to present one of your best photos to be considered for the competition and to shoot during the photo trails.

We are now in negotiation with free accommodation at the Langkawi Resort too if we do location shoot.

If the Kedah Tourism and/or Resort uses your photo for their promotional materials, your name will be credited.

Do note the dates are fixed but the program may change as there is a VIP involved. That's what photo trip is about it to find the best timing and activity to shoot.

Day 1 Friday13 December 2013 (Singapore - Langkawi - Kedah)
6.40am Airport
10.00am Arrive at Langkawi Airport
12.00pm Arrive at Langkawi Ferry
2.00pm Arrive at Kuala Kedah (can shoot around)
4.00pm Arrive at Hotel
5.00pm-7.00 pm Free & Easy / Relax or meet with Y.B.Rawi
7.00 pm Food Trail (TBC)
9.00 pm Free & Easy

Day 2 Saturday 14 December 2013 (Kedah)
Nature Photo Trail
- Sungai Sedim Recreational Forest (White Water Rafting & Kayaking available)
- Kerang Hill and Surrounding area
- Food Trail – Nasi Lemak Haji Ali (Dinner)

Day 3 Sunday 15 December 2013 (Kedah-Langkawi)

8.00 am Depart from hotel
8.30 am Breakfast
10.00 am Street Photography
- Kedah Royal Museum (Muzium Diraja)
- Bangunan Jam Besar
- Balai Seni Negeri Kedah
- Alor Setar Tower
- Mahathir Birthplace House
12.00 pm Lunch
2.00 pm Transfer back to Langkawi
6.00 pm Check in Resort
7.00 pm Sunset shoot and then Free and Easy (Photo Critique session is planned)

Day 4 Monday 16 December 2013 (Langkawi)
Langkawi Program (TBC) - will include the Langkawi nature tour of some sort. My plan is the Langkawi Caves and Mangroves Tour where we can see Eagle feeding.

Escape to another world as you take a tour of some of Langkawi’s most unforgettable and mystical sights. The tour starts off with a trip to one of the most renowned caves in Langkawi, ‘Gua Kelawar’, literally translated meaning Bat Cave. This stunning cave is steeped in fables of romance and intrigue so make sure you prick up your ears and listen to your guide.

Day 5 Tuesday 17 December 2013 (Langkawi - Singapore)
Langkawi Program (TBC) - Cable Car trip up Langkawi Hill
Depart back to SGP

SPECIAL: For those who wants Basic Training (i usually charge $250), I can provide during the whole trip at no additional charge so you save another $250. Please email me if you want training.

I will do a photo critique session on the last night at Kedah and Langkawi as part of the whole learning process (i don't do this outside of my paid trips with Unique Photo Trips).

Prices
Accommodation: 750MYR.Ferry to Kuala Kedah and back to Langkawi is around 50MYR. Whole day rental of 12 seater Van is 50MYR per pax. So 4 days of running about is 200MYR.
Guides: 100MYR x 4: 400MYR
Langkawi Mangrove and Caves Tour (optional) - 200MYR (negotiating)
Langkawi Cable Car (Skybridge is closed) Optional - 55MYR(negotiating or we DIY)

Original Estimated total land cost with training is (1655MYR) 650SGD + 250SGD = 900SGD

Estimated Total Cost with Discounts, transport and both optional trips thrown in: 350SGD** + 50MYR +200MYR + 200MYR+55MYR = 550SGD* (save 350 SGD).

*Note1: optional tours not inclusive you will save much more if you don't take it up

**Note 2: I will only collect SGD350 total for the trip. The rest is estimated cost of sharing transport and have optional trip.

Note 3: Air fare not inclusive. I will confirm logistic details with the participants on where to meet to start the program proper.

This trip is CONFIRMED. Maximum people is 10.
