Neil's suggestion is a great one. In fact, Ustream recently released their producer program which makes for a pretty good stream even without the Adobe piece and gives you some pretty neat production tools with it.
In my efforts to see if I could make a go of a live streaming solution for customers I've researched and experimented with an exhaustive number of these solutions. The second best is a piece of software (MAC only) called Boinx TV. It's difficult to manage multiple cameras (but it can be done) and you have to jury rig camtwist to make it go, but it does work and gives you TONS of features to make the stream a little more interesting... especially if you can get two cameras working.
The best solution is a tri-caster.?With a tri-caster (costly) you just plug it into an Internet connection, enter your Ustream info and shazaam you are broadcasting a multicamera, fully switched, beautiful stream with graphic channels for a first class production.
Here's the link to our recorded version of a live stream we did for Ignite Boulder 9:
And then we chopped them up post live stream (recorded in real time in the tri-caster) into individual presentations to put on the YouTube channel:
Robin, if you want to see the boinx solution, the tri-caster or just get more info/assistance with your situation feel free to ask. I'd be happy to get SOME use out of what I've learned in the last two years.

I have done live streaming - and with a cell phone (providing
the internet connection) no less.
Best of luck with it!
