A Cambodian Dinner by Dennie

  • Dec 7, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • Jeani's Place

As much as I love eating out, I also love to cook. I would like to have a quarterly meetup where I will be featuring my native Cambodian food. Problem is,  I do not have a place to hold such gatherings.  If you are  interested, let me know.   For this quarter, one of our members, Jeani is graciously opening her home for this meetup. This will be an intimate gathering.

The cost of the meal will be $25 which you will prepay by clicking on my pay pal account below and sending the money directly to my email  ([masked]). The prepayment will be used to pay for the cost of buying all the ingredients for the meal itself.  I am also raising money for my mission trip to Tecucigalpa, Honduras. Come March 8-14th, I  will be part of a team working with Amor, Fe y Esperanza (AFE) ministry.  We will be building two houses for families working in the trash dump areas outside of the capital. Any profit I make will be going towards my mission trip.

To pay, please click on the following Pay Pal Link.https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/send-money-online

Send money to [masked] in the amount of $25. An email will be sent with place of address once RSVP and pre-payment has been received. If you have any questions, please inbox me.

Oh Dennie...you are a wonderful cook and a wonderful hostess...as is Jeanie who opened her lovely home to us. The food was delicious and it was my first experience with Cambodian food. You asked me what was my favorite? 1st - spring rolls 2nd favorite - the good company. I love to sit around a table with good food, good wine and good conversation. I met many nice, new people. Thank you for the nicest evening I have had in a while.

Den, thanks much for sharing a bit of Cambodian culture via an awesome feast cooked with lots of care and love. And thanks to Jeani for opening up her beautiful home to a bunch of ravenous foodies. I ate so much I was sure the Oompa-Loompas would show up any minute to roll me out the door!

Hi guys, There will be water and tea. I will be brining a bottle of wine to share and you are welcome to bring your favorite spirit/wine if you like. I am also thinking about brining sodas. Would sprite, coke, or fresca work for everyone? If you're not interested in sodas. Let me know.

I had already RSVP'ed and sent in money but unfortunately, my Dad's health is worse and I am now in Florida. Please offer my place to someone you know who would enjoy it. Thanks.

      December 1, 2013

    • Dennie

Hi Lynnda, I am sorry about your Dad. I will have to have you over for a private Cambodian dinner :)

I wish I could come, but I have to be at a trade show late at night.

Weird! I thought I RSVPd before but maybe I got so excited I forgot to! I'll manage the non-GF stuff. Sounds like it's just some of the sauces and I'm pretty sure that won't kill me (not instantly anyway).
