Let's head to Moderne Barn in Armonk for an indulgent brunch on this Valentine's Day weekend... We'll meet at 12:30 and be seated at 1pm
Moderne Barn, with its traditional American roots, global influences and touch of comfort, offers unique menu options created by Chef Ethan Kostbar .
Kostbar’s appreciation of food began as a young boy (he grew up in Israel and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and Europe during his childhood) and is apparent in the dishes he creates. His menu also showcases his creative journey as a chef, with a strong background in Mediterranean cuisine and a love of global flavors. As often as possible, Chef Ethan sources local ingredients, including meat and fish; fresh, local produce is a must!
Moderne Barn menus offer casual, yet sophisticated dishes and Chef Ethan’s recipes are a taste for all palates. Fueled with an appreciation for hand-picked ingredients and diverse cultures, his philosophy is such: “simple, seasonal food is delicious food.”

Here's a few comments from prior diners, "Late Sunday brunch reservation on a cold, raw day. We were welcomed warmly and seated promptly. The brunch menu had lots to try, nice for those of us who really hate the French Toast/Waffle mushy sweet stuff. Our party of 4 ranged in age from 65 to 13.
A few specialty cocktails and starters, I loved the house made gravlax on thinly sliced beets, a new to me combination that I plan on exploring further! our main dishes were a little bit of everything, including "Hungover Piggie": sausage stuffed pork loin wrapped in bacon, bell peppers, onion, provolone polenta, sunnyside eggs. This was very good! My daughter had the Cape Cod cakes, they must have been great because she would not share a bite. the 13-year old went for a burger and fries. He was very happy."
Another writes, "The food is very good, the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is excellent. The noise level on the first floor is very high if you want to have a conversation, so do ask to be seated in the quietest area of the restaurant."
One more wrote, " Brunch was perfect! From the Sauvignon Blanc to the Peach Bellini to the complimentary warm cornbread....we shared the Fried "French Onion" Dumplings served on top of gruyere cheese fondue - this is where I can use the word "AMAZEBALLS" with legitimacy...
My friend had the Vegetable Panini (grilled eggplant, mushrooms, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, and pesto on homemade focaccia). I had a Mediterranean Omelet (prosciutto, spinach, artichoke, mozzarella, and potato hash). Even the toast was delicious. We couldn't pass on dessert and I am so glad we didn't: Warm Salted Caramel & Peanut Brittle Sundae and Warm Cinammon Sugared Apple Fritters. On this rainy Sunday, I couldn't be happier. It met my expectations and I can't wait to come back for dinner one night soon.
I have made a reservation for SIX on Sunday Feb 16th -- starting at 12;30 - we will be seated at 1pm.
See you there!
