Gathering of the Vibes Festival 2014

Let's go to the Gathering of the Vibes weekend festival (July 31 - August 3, 2014) in beautiful Seaside Park in Bridgeport CT -- Take a look:

This is a wonderful four day music (jamband, blues, rock, folk, funk, and groovy stuff) festival that takes place at Seaside Park in Bridgeport -- right on the sound -- that we attended for the last six years..

Headliners for this year have been announced! They include: Widespread Panic, John Fogerty, Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Edward Sharp & Magnetic Zeros, Ziggy Marley, Moe, Umphreys McGee, Slightly Stoopid, Maceo Parker, Rodrigo & Gabriella, Dark Star Orchestra, Almost Dead, Ryan Monteblu & Friends, Rusted Root, Strangefolk, and many many more! Check out their website for more info and music!

Bridgeport’s own Funk superstars Deep Banana Blackout will return to the Vibes stage along with Latin rock band Cosmic Jibaros. The Silent Disco returns, proving that the loudest late night party on the beach can’t be heard. **Additional artist announcements still to come.

In total, Gathering of the Vibes will host over 40 bands in 2014 on multiple stages located throughout the historic and scenic 370-acre beachfront venue.

So RSVP here and we will all meet at the Vibes this summer and have a real good time!!

Watch and listen to music from past years on their site -- Since 2007 we have been blessed with beautiful weather, treated to unforgettable musical performances, and had the opportunity to showcase a great outpouring of positive people. The fact that the festival is being welcomed back to Bridgeport is a direct result of the respect, kindness, and compassion the participants demonstrated towards the city, its park, and its residents last year. So come join me this year for an unforgettable summer weekend on the shores of Long Island Sound.

Check out the website for more information and pictures and music!! ~ see and listen and learn more! Tix for this festival come in many guises..

They have weekend pass tix that include camping.. they have weekend passes that DON"T INCLUDE CAMPING.. .. And.. they have one day passes for folks who only want to go for one day. Tickets are on sale now -- $235 for four days of music, camping and good times... Single day tickets are about $75 for the day -- still a great price to see a full day and night's worth of music, enjoy the vendors, food, and festivities! While this festival is from Thursday to Sunday, you can just go for the day and meet us think about spending a wonderful saturday or sunday afternoon listening to cool tunes and dancing your feet off along with lots of friendly people! :)

A few years ago I met up with Shelley and split a hotel room, as it was over 100 degrees and that cool shower and air conditioned room at 4am was heaven!  Plus full breakfast in the morning - so we're going to do the hotel route again - definitely worth it! Shuttle buses bring you back and forth from hotel to festie, so no driving or parking necessary! If you're not into the whole weekend, hey, its only a one-hour drive to Bridgeport.. come for the day, and you'll be snug in your own bed that night! :)

We will coordinate meeting up at the festival site by cell phone and/or TEXT -- (easier to text in a loud environment) I"ll send my cell # out a few days before the festival -- or just look for me on the site -- Look for a BIG WHITE KELTY tent - (we'll be in the back of the concert field, so we're not blocking anyone's view..) The shade tents will be our "headquarters" and folks are welcome to come hang with us, or wander around throughout the day...

You can go to the website to find out all you'd ever want to know about this festival.. but if you have questions, please email me! Or.. go to last year's event and look at the pictures!! LOL It did rain one day.. but that didn't stop us.. or the music! Rain-schmain.. a little water never hurts ya...! :)

Happy Festivalling! :)
