Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is also known as Mardi Gras Day or Shrove Day. It is a day when people eat all they want of everything and anything they want as the following day is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of a long fasting period for Christians. In addition to fasting, christians also give up something special that they enjoy. So, Fat Tuesday is a celebration and the opportunity to enjoy that favorite food or snack that you give up for the long lenten season. And we are celebrating with a delicious meal...Cajun style at Black-eyed Sally's this year! Come join us...

Black-eyed Sally's started out in 1995 as a tiny and fiercely independent BBQ and Blues joint. Over the next few years, folks took a likening to the cookin’ so much that they had to expand twice in order to accommodate the crowds. Black-eyed Sally's serves up award winning BBQ and Cajun cooking in a southern juke joint atmosphere. Some of the awards they are most proud of are "Three Stars" from the Hartford Courant & Connecticut Magazine, The Hartford Advocate's "Best Of Hartford" and even a "Very Good" from the NY Times food critic. So come join your friends and taste some of the best cooking this side of the Mississippi. They will be celebrating Fat Tuesday this year with plenty of entertainment...music...balloons...stilt walkers...a real Mardi Gras atmosphere.
