This group is about the meeting of friends around a table of delicious food! I enjoy going out to eat and talk, meet new people and be socially active and I don't think I'm the only one !
I want to have fun, enjoy pleasant conversation and get to know everyone so I'll limit each meetup to 10 people. There will be a new location each month, to try new foods and hopefully please all of the people some of the time. Meetings will be scheduled mostly on the 2nd Friday of each month although there may be exceptions for special restaurant offers, holidays or special requests.
When you attend a meetup, please plan on paying your portion of a group tab for food, tax and AT LEAST 18% tip (what they generally add on to groups anyway). That's the total bill plus tax and tip divided by the number of attendees. There will not be exceptions. Do not ask for a separate bill. If you don't like the way the bill is paid, this is not the group for you to join.
I would prefer that you bring cash with you to pay for your meal. I would rather not split up the bill between cash and multiple credit/debit cards.
Alcohol will be billed on a separate check and you will pay for what you drink plus the tax and tip.
If service/food is poor and you feel you should tip less, speak with me, so hopefully things may be rectified with each location.
The following are the details of our attendance policy.
"No Shows" are STRONGLY discouraged due to (1) courtesy to a restaurant which accepted our reservation for a specific number of attendees (2) the limited number of people that may be able to attend each meetup and (3) respect for the other members of our group.
I will send out a reminder e-mail including my cell phone # to all "YES" RSVPers 1-2 days prior to each MeetUp so you can contact me for a last minute cancellation or if you are running late.
All "No Shows" will be removed from the group after the 1st offense and will not be allowed to re-join.
A "No Show" is defined as a member who does not show up for a MeetUp AND does not call me, e-mail me or change their RSVP to "NO" before the event
All members will be entitled to 1 "emergency" notification defined as a "No Show" who phones or e-mails me within 24 hours AFTER the MeetUp to offer a reasonable explanation (ie emergency or serious issue) that affected their attendance. "I forgot" will not count as reasonable and will therefore be considered a "No Show"
Continued membership after more than one "emergency" notification will be considered on a case by case basis.
Every member will be entitled to 1 "last minute" notification which is a call, e-mail or text message to me on the day of the event within 3 hours of the start time (which is too late to notify a restaurant of a change).

All new members will be asked to confirm that they have read and agree to abide by the attendance policy and the check paying policy.
Please feel free to click on the "IDEAS" tab at the top of our home page to suggest your favorite foods or to recommend your favorite restaurants for us to visit. I am very interested in your input and would love to plan our meetups based on your suggestions.
In order to help me with the cost of posting on meetup.com, I am asking each member to contribute $2 for every event you attend. I don't plan on being dogmatic about this, but your contribution will be much appreciated.
