New Music Concert w area composer Bill Robinson

  • Feb 19, 2014 · 7:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

What's new "classical" music in spirit and sound? Bill Robinson--a true voice joining new and old, eastern and western music traditions--offers a 5th Annual Concert of Music by Bill Robinson, showcasing recent work. This concert is FREE and will take place at the Carol Woods Retirement Community, "near" Durham.

Yes, this is a new step for our Durham-centric venues, but Carol Woods (CW) is "on the Durham side" of Chapel Hill, and the concert's alternative location is Meredith College in Raleigh. So Carol Woods wins out.

Fifth Annual Concert of Music by  Bill Robinson

Carol Woods Retirement Community, Chapel Hill NC, 750 Weaver Dairy Road   ASSEMBLY HALL

Wednesday, February 19   7:30 PM   Meetup 20 min early to get seats

The concert will take place in the CW Assembly Hall, parking is free and there will be signs pointing visitors in the direction of the concert.

Bill is one of the area's most inventive, curious, and frankly astonishing, musical artists. He has made his home in the Durham-Raleigh-Chapel Hill area for many years, and his works frequently have been performed at Duke as well as in Raleigh--where he currently works as a Professor of Physics at NC State.  VISIT his website:

Don't be left out--the concert will be overflowing in sounds, silences, dissonances, harmonies. Some of us may remember the Durham-centic Meetup for his Mantra Cantata, at the First Presbyterian church in Durham (on Roxboro). Quite a musical event!

Note: Bill Robinson is a Durham-centric member.   :)

The music and musicians played extremely well together, and it was a real treat to hear the instruments weaving in and out of these compositions. I am amazed at the composer's ideas.
