“ I love the idea of discussing philosophy over dinner. I attended only twice, and the conversation was interesting but very uneven, I'm not sure how to change that, though. It feels a bit like class and not a "real" conversation because it's a bit too monitored for my taste. ”
— Adriana H. on Aug 14, 2012.
“ I like it. The level of discussion could be higher, the boundaries broader. ”
— anne-marie l. on Aug 14, 2012.
“ I am deeply disappointed at the limited number of spots this group allots for its events. Furthermore, it seems that many of the same individuals have reserved spots for months in advance. Is this group truly open to everyone? This is a legitimate inquiry. I would appreciate any information regarding this concern. ”
— Ann Marie M. on Feb 27, 2012.
“ The Darwin Day "Altruism" event did not allow me to evaluate Dinner & Philosophy Now in NYC because there was no food and very little philosophy. ”

“ Excellent concept. You win some, you lose some...I'll follow you anywhere. Since during the battle for the 'hearts and minds' of our culture, wisdom should always seek against 'narrow focus' so the important issues of our times are enlightened. Your events should draw an expanded wisdom as a result of the event. Something to walk away with. I don't think a philosophy group should accept just facts. You can get that on Ch. 2, 4 or 7. Wisdom requires introspection and if lucky...the 'Ah ha' moment. And let's not under-rate the 'good fellowship' of like minds seeking truth. I guess what you're doing is a learning curve. Like I said...I'd follow you anywhere. ”
— Howard Kipp P. on Dec 11, 2011.

“ Overall, pretty good. Prof. Pigliucci rocked (something you expect from him), Prof. Canuto did a fairly good job. I was somewhat surprised that Prof. Canuto's presentation was, first of all on global warming and only after that on the search for ET intelligence. Don't get me wrong: the global warming part was very good (and I learned a thing or two that I didn't know before; nonetheless, I came expecting to hear more on the search for ET intelligence and now I can't help but think that I could've learned more of it if the presentation had been wholly devoted to ET intelligence. In particular, I would've loved to hear more than just a remark on the hypothesis of uniformity of laws of physics through the Universe. But then again, I did enjoy the evening. Thank you! ”

“ The subjects delve into history and the present discussing readings in philosophy and current issues, including religious tolerance, global warming, human rights, politics, etc. There is no one answer to everything and there is lots of opportunity to speak one's thoughts - rationally! It's fun, and the discussions continue over dinner. ”
