There has been much discussion of so-called "experimental philosophy" of late. Some see it asa bold new way forward for philosophy. Others as a hopelessly confusing oxymoron. Which is it? The author of the suggested reader attempts to explain why we should take X-Phi seriously.

I always enjoy these meetups. I hope I can go to the next one. I'm on the waiting list.

I'm part of another meetup for which future events are announced in advance along with the day and time for which RSVPing becomes open. Might I suggest something similar for this meetup? This way, the most eager participants can be well prepared to RSVP.

How the hell does one register for a opening when one is suddenly announced? The opening is not indicated on the event site, so what gives?

When the vacancy email was sent, I saw one vacancy on the event site. As I changed my RSVP from the waiting list to "yes" and paid the $2, I probably changed the vacancy count back to no vacancy on the event site.

Ray, as I explained, there are a lot of people on the waiting list, so when there is an opening several people may try to get in. Someone was simply faster...

Hmm, a spot seems to have opened but the page isn't allowing me to register. Oh well, if I can't get in I hope someone else can!

Good for you! I was wondering how that could have happened. But I got the next spot so all's well. Meanwhile I hope Massimo is pleased to see his disciples gobbling up these spots....

Ahem, the word "disciple" may be pushing it. But yes, I am pleased indeed...

I may be a few minutes late. Due to overbooking I'll have to stop off at Stone Creek to apologize for having to change my RSVP for Humanist Film Night.

One can test a persons philosophy in the laboratory.

Please clarify the venue. The message says Bedlam the webpage says Bamiyan. An important detail.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
