What areas of philosophy interest you the most?

I have recently been bouncing around a bunch of topics, but I am probably most interested right now in philosophy of mind. I am also trying to make sense of Ayn Rand and her objectivist philosophy. At this point, I am open to learning just about anything.

How did you become interested in philosophy?

I attended Columbia College where we had to take the Core Curriculum which included studies by many philosophers, beginning with Socrates and on down the line. My interest was slightly piqued back then but resurfaced with a vengeance recently (I am not sure why). You can find me frequently browsing the philosophy section in Strands, noticeably salivating over philosophy books. I mostly, though, take the books out of the library (to stay within budget).

Greetings. I have a newly revived and intense interest in philosophy (see background below). It is wonderful to see a Meetup group like this in New York.
