Run Mission Trails

Run Mission Trails this Saturday.  Beware of anything north of the 52....it might be off limits.  Maybe run the Stairway to Heaven then head up Kwaay Pay Peak for some hill training.  9 miles-14 miles.  Happy Thanksgiving!  See you next week!

Had a great time with some new friends. Meet up made coordination so easy.

I made it back okay. I waited 15 minutes on North Fortin, but the last group never showed. Looks like their cars ate gone?

I would run the rusty barrel too , but Stairway (to Hell) would be a no-no for the knee at this point. Eslene, do you know the way? We could do together - except rusty barrel does go through the restricted areas that might be cut off.

Eslene, I'm skipping this run - did Sweetwater today and am going to relax in Idyllwild tomorrow instead!

The trails are hit or miss with the closure markings. A trail may be marked at one end but not the other. I'm guessing that signs are being removed as quickly as they were posted in retaliation
Another "RUMOR" I got today is that they are seeking additional staff to enforce the restrictions. I don't know when this will actually go into effect if at all.

As of right now; if you're North of the 52 and you're running up a steep hill; you're likely in the wrong.... A sad story.

Rather than paying for fines, apply that money to a run on the Alter-G or a new set of shoes. Much better $pent!

I'm hearing a lot of trails are no go's. are all these north of the 52? Are they clearly marked as closed. I can't afford a fine like that this time of year.

Stairway, North Fortuna, and Kwaay Pay are all south of the 52 and will not result in a fine.

That's to bad. There are some good trails on that side.

The scoop as of today. (I went out and checked)
Deer Dancer marked closed. Grassy Knoll marked closed on the Oak Cyn side. CL1 closed on Oak Cyn side. (Cyn Left One) No other signs posted. The down and dirty is this... I see signs posted one day and the next they are gone. (post and all) Obviously people are removing them. I would hate to be the example they pin that $[masked] ticket on. 3 Cans, Toads, and Tracks has not been posted yet to my knowledge. That said; the entire area (all trails in the hills of 52 East)
are "illegal". I'm sure you can get away with it but, It's not helping the situation.

The down and dirty for the Dirty Devils.

anyone who runs an area that is restricted PLEASE DO NOT wear anything affiliated with the Dirt Devils. Mission Trails has been our stomping grounds for a long time and we hold a race here every August. If you run in a restricted area.....especially after this conversation you are on your own....if you get caught you will be on your own and the Dirt Devils will disown you :(
