Let's just say I know my way around a racetrack and racing form. And I LOVE Santa Anita Park near Pasadena. It's a gorgeous course with perfect views of the San Gabriel mountains and it's a nice way to spend the day. Now, combine that with a great deal and I'm in. Goldstar is having a deal. Read on:
• Get your NCAA and NFL football fix while you wager on live horse racing at Santa Anita Park. "The End Zone," located near Sirona's Bar at the Park, will be showing every pigskin game all day long on flat-screen TVs, along with the day's racing. The package includes private seating, drink specials and a lunch buffet of bar favorites like pulled pork sliders, all-beef hot dogs and more. You'll also get a daily racing program to help you pick your ponies, and your first Budweiser or Bud Light draft beer is on the house.
The cost is $10 (plus $3.50 Goldstar fees) for admission, a program, a draft beer and a buffet. I'm definitely IN! When you click on the link it says it starts @ 9:30AM and you can come then if you like and watch football on the big screen TVs but since racing doesn't start until 1PM I will not be there until noon to eat and get settled in. Come and go whenever you like but YOU need to just touch base with ME so I don't mark you as a no show. Meet @ "The End Zone," located near Sirona's Bar at the Park. Look for me. (I'm not positive where this is but I suspect it's on the east side, ask someone.)
I will be happy to show you the program, provide some instruction in how to read a racing form (purchased separately if desired, not needed), show you how to place a bet at the window, show you where the horses are saddled before being walked out to the track, etc. I will NOT pick a winner for you. ;) I am NOT a big better--$2-$6/race. What you bet is up to you.
Here is the link to purchase this deal--PLEASE try to purchase through this link (I know it's difficult for some people but this allows me to see who's in the group).

FYI, they have a free tram tour @ 8:30 and 9:45. I highly recommend it but I've already done it......but if you want to come early and see it that's up to you. It really is pretty cool.
