North Valley Toastmasters Guest Speaker Ash Kalra

Learn how our guest speaker San José City Councilmember Ash Kalra got over his fear of public speaking!

Councilmember Ash Kalra earned his seat on the San José City Council in the November 4, 2008 election. He represents Council District 2, which is located in the Southern region of San José bordering Morgan Hill. District 2 has approximately 100,000 residents, and San José as a whole has a population of almost 1 million, making it the 10th largest city in the nation. He has been a resident of San José for over 32 years and is proud to be the first Oak Grove High School graduate on the San José City Council. Kalra was re-elected to a second term in June 2012.

We meet every Friday morning from 7am to around 8:15am (but plan on 8:30 and you won't get stressed). If it's your first visit to the club, your delicious hot breakfast is on us! Be sure to arrive by 6:50 so that you have plenty of time to order. You can learn more about us at ntvm.org.

Interesting meeting with 5 guests - San Jose City Council Member Ash Kalra presented an honest, open talk about how he came into public service and why he passionate about his job. All other speeches were good too.
