Out & Around: Rainbow Toastmasters Celebrates its 8th Anniversary

Rainbow Toastmasters is celebrating its 8th anniversary with an exciting multi-media event. “Out & Around” will showcase queer leaders using communication skills to work for LGBT equality around the world.

Attendance is free at the “Out & Around” event (donations accepted), to be held at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market Street, on September 26 from 6pm to 8pm.

Rainbow Toastmasters, a SF-based club within Toastmasters International, develops speaking and leadership skills in the LGBT and larger communities.

The “Out & Around” event will feature:
• Lisa Dazols and Jenni Chang, world travelers in Asia, Africa and South America searching for “supergays” – leaders in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) equality throughout the world. Lisa and Jenni will bring footage from their upcoming documentary, “Out & Around,” showcasing the exciting people they met and important activities during their travels.
• Speakers from GAPA (Gay Asian Pacific Alliance) who will share personal life experiences in some of the same regions.

Whole Foods Market will be donating light refreshments for the event, promoting their new store soon to open at Market and Dolores streets.

Rainbow Toastmasters members will discuss skill-building in communications, organization and leadership with any interested attendee.

Come and speak with these incredible world travelers, the members of Rainbow Toastmasters, and others who are interested in LGBT equality around the world!

I'm looking forward to seeing these dynamic women who found courageous people in the countries where they traveled.

Unfortunately, I will be at the Area E2 contest that evening. I wish I could make it. It sounds like a great event.
