1) The password for the R Bar may have changed, so call them after 7:00PM at [masked] and ask for the new password if the old one doesn't work. Or just call Chris. I'm sure he'd like that. :-D

2) Anyone attempting to get to the R Bar from the Santa Monica Freeway is in for trouble if they take the Normandie exit. Normandie Avenue is closed between Venice Blvd. & Pico because of the Greek Festival, so get off the 10 freeway on Western or Vermont and take either of those north to 8th Street.

3) We will be joined tonight by Burlesque Pirate Lavendar La Rue! (See photo below.) Alas, she will not be performing tonight, but she will be selling discount tickets for her Pirate Burlesque show at that other Pirate bar, the Redwood, tomorrow night (Sunday)! (Check the Dive Bar Adventures calendar for more details.)

This is a secret bar that only special dive bar pirates, barflies, and dive bar hosts know about. It requires a secret knock on the door. There is no sign and not any idea that it is a bar inside. You must know the password. No password no entrance.. I tried once..

For those of who wish not to drive! We Begin at the Hollywood and Highland Bar PowerHouse Bar. Get your RedLine Tickets ahead of time!!! But beware me-matey's you must get back to the subway before midnight or be stuck in K-Town Forever! Haaa haa haa!

We take the Redline to the Normandie station and walk two blocks to 8th street and hang a right.. To the R Bar...

Its cool and dark and as the weather heats up into Santa Ana conditions.. This will be your cool down in the dark corners of Koreatown to chill and enjoy a little bloody mary in the midst of the dark wood and occasional nautical references...
