What: 2nd Annual Dive Bar Christmas! (With Free Chinese Food Dinner!)

We went to Bar 107 for Christmas last year and it was so good that we're going back again this year! Roast duck and Chinese food are on the menu. The food is free; just buy a drink. And I understand there will be a special "holiday screening" there later in the evening. (Don't worry; it's not going to be like last year's holiday screening!)

Hi, this is Joe P. (Pictured below.) If you've got nowhere to go for Christmas because your family is too far away, or if you are going to be with your family and you need to sneak away...

I've got just the thing: Christmas at Bar 107!

The drinks are cheap and the food is cheaper (i.e., free). (I believe the well drinks are $5 and the beer starts at $2.) They even have a real Photo Booth in the back for $2!

And it's only 3 blocks from the Red Line's Pershing Square Station!

I'm going to try and go early and grab the big booth on the left (when you walk in the door).

THE FOOD WILL NOT LAST VERY LONG! DO NOT SHOW UP AT 5:00PM AND THEN COMPLAIN THAT THEY WERE OUT OF FOOD!

There is plenty of free street parking, especially on 4th Street in front of the bar. I called the Department of Transportation and they said that neither parking meter restrictions nor "No Stopping 4-6" regulations will be enforced on Christmas Day. (For more parking information, read "Enforcement of Parking Regulations on National Holidays.") There is also a pay parking lot on the northeast corner of 4th Street and Main Street. Try not to park on the street east of Main Street, though: that's where Skid Row begins! (Hey, this really is a Dive Bar!) But don't worry, we're not taking food away from homeless people; it's not that kind of free Christmas dinner! This is for customers only, so buy a drink!

Price of Drinks: Beer starts at $2. Soda is even less.

Notes:

1) Don't worry: the bar is not actually in Skid Row! (That might be going a bit too far.)

2) There is no sign outside Bar 107 that says "Bar 107." It says "Heileman's Old Style" and "Ollie's Sport Shop - Live Bait and Tackle." (See photo.)

3) I don't know how long the food will last. They are supposed to start serving at 4:00PM.

4) I'll be sending my cell phone number out to everyone who RSVPs before 12:00PM on December 25th. If you RSVP after that and you're thinking of arriving after 7:30PM, come on down anyway; we'll probably still be there. (Who knows... We might be there all night!)
