DOUBLEHEADER! - Where Front & Back-end dev meet & Search and Django

Didn't go to DjangoCon? That's okay. We are bringing Django to you with a doubleheader!

Title: Battle in the Bosphorus: Where Django Front-end and Back-end Development meet

Speaker: Cobey Potter, Wellfire Interactive

Description: With the new front-end dev push to HTML, CSS, and Javascript pre-processors, we'll take a glimpse at the front-end designer's prospective on Django and how best to not step on each others toes when working on a Django-based project. Designers love that Django templates are simply a superset of regular HTML: we'll discuss how they work, how best to organize them, and when back-end development is needed to extend them.

Title: Finding the Needle: Search and Django

Speaker: Ben Lopatin, Wellfire Interactive

Description: Most websites share at least two things in common: content and users who want to find content. This talk will cover the basics of site search using search engines (the kind you run, not Google), setting up a Django project with Haystack, highlight some of the gotchas you might encounter, and touch on some more advanced functionality.

Any possibility of there being a waitlist? I'd love it if someone could ping me if they end up not being able to go to this!

Just a gentle day-of reminder to change your RSVP if you can't make it. There is a waitlist!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
