Join us for our first Django tutorial event. If you've been meaning to start learning Django, this is a great opportunity. The format of the event will be fairly simple. Everybody who is looking to learn will be asked to attempt to install Django and complete the official tutorial on their own. As everybody works on the tutorial, there will be a number of experienced Django developers available to provide guidance and to answer questions. At the end of the night we'll have a general Q&A and some tips on where to go from there. Additionally we'll be seeking feedback on the format of the event as well as topics for future tutorials. Be aware that we will only be providing power and internet access. You will need to bring your own laptop to work on to participate in the tutorial. Thanks to Six Apart for generously hosting this Django-NYC event.
Excellent hand holding session. Shaved weeks of aborted attempts at working my way through the tutorial by myself in my spare time.

It was great to see so many people learning Django. I think the meeting could have been better with a guided tutorial, but I fully understand preparing such a presentation is a significant time commitment. I'd love to help out in preparing for the next meeting.

I think the walk around help was great. For some reason I think a little intro or close down discussion might be addition to this sort of format. A chance to see if there are certain problems that groups of people ran into.
The space was fun. The wifi worked great! The food and refreshments were very generous. Kudos to those who organized.

A good change to meet other Django users and to practice with the framework.
