What is a swap? A swap is an event in which participants exchange their valued but no longer used clothing for clothing they will use. Clothing swaps are considered a good way to declutter and refill a wardrobe.

Why The Swap Shop? We are a fashion focused swapping team that mixes charitable giving with great clothes! We donate to local charities and national non-profits that benefit disadvantaged countries around the world. Our swaps offer something different every time with new themes every month. Need help with your wardrobe? Our staff can assist you!

How much does it cost? 
Our meet-up fashionistas only pay $10
Guest swappers and non-members pay $12.
If you want to shop but don't have any garments to swap the price is $20.

Where do we meet-up?  We like to keep it fresh so we travel to various locations around the DMV area. Anywhere from restaurants, lounges, meeting spaces, local expos etc.

What does The Swap Shop carry? We offer sizes 0-24 for clothing and shoe sizes 5-10 1/2. We also carry accessories. We take all seasons. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS UNLESS WE ARE DOING A DRIVE.

What do I bring?  We accept a mandatory of 6 items that can be a combination of : Clothing, accessories, shoes, purses, etc. Clothing must be on a hanger and loose accessories need to be in a zip loc bag. However, we do have a small supply of hangers and zip loc bags on-site.

Donation vs. Swap?  We have two categories and have the right to determine if your item(s) is for swap or donation. You can even pick which category. We do except men’s clothing for donation as well. Tax-deductible slips are available at each swap.

What else does The Swap Shop offer?  The Swap Shop staff loves giveaways! At every swap we offer games, door prizes, and $1 raffles. We also have light appetizers because you will work up an appetite grabbing those great garments!

What are the Social Swap Perks? Our online perks consist of Fashionista Facebook Freebies, Swap Shop Bucks, So Sweet Top Tweets, Meet-up Model, Swap Shop-Online Swap and more. Rules will be posted on our many social networking platforms.

What is the Pairs 4 Purpose Shoe Swap party?  Pairs 4 Purpose is our Shoe Swap held twice a year for Summer & Winter. It is sponsored by Shoe S(he) online magazine. It has the same concept as traditional swaps except there is a shoe drive associated with the event, vendors and a few more treats.
