Cheshire Isaacs wrote: A D&D-themed play my Berkeley theatre company, Impact Theatre, is premiering locally starting tomorrow. It's called "Of Dice and Men," and it premiered at PAX last year to standing-room-only and a standing ovation. "Of Dice and Men" is about a group of D&D players whose world is rocked when one of the players makes a shocking announcement. Playwright Cameron McNary examines why we game, what it means to grow up, and what true friendship looks like in the comedy that Castles & Cooks calls "the most brilliant piece of nonWizards of the Coast D&D-related material since the Dead Alewives," and McNary himself calls "a play for our tribe." The show runs Thu-Sat through Oct 1. Previews are tomorrow and Friday, and the show officially opens Saturday with a post-show reception. More info about the show and Impact can be found at http://www.impactthea.... We also have a special price for your group: if you have a group of 10 or more people ordering tickets in the same order, you can save $2/ticket by using the special code "dragon" (online orders only).
I'm sorry to have missed this play. I would watch it if it ever runs again

ha ha this show was great! more than a series of reflexive nerd-jokes, but less than a self-rightous tirade, this play is hella funny, sad and touching, and more than a little over the top. come see this with yer gamer and non-gamer friends alike!
