The Washtenaw County 2nd Saturday RPG Meetup

  • February 8 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Change of plans: We didn't get enough response to the DM workshop, so we're putting that on hold for a bit.

This month's Meetup is at Dan & Tracey's in Ann Arbor; this is an alcohol-free location. As usual, we'll be ordering pizza around 5:30 or 6; the cost normally comes out to $5 or less per person. Bring your own soda. You may choose to bring personal snacks or something to share with the group.

The purpose of the 2nd Saturday MeetUp is to bring together experienced players with people new to, or rejoining, the RPG world. The games are short, one-time adventures, and no experience is necessary. If you're looking for a steady group for a campaign, this is the place to meet other players and see how they interact. The Teen Group now meets outside of this session; please contact us with questions.

We do rely on members to run events and help us out when needed. Our biggest need is for DM's. I like to have at least 2 DM's so we can handle about 14 players. Any game system is OK to DM. There are a whole bunch of great systems other than D&D and we feel it is valuable for players to experience them. We want all players to have fun, meet other like-minded people and make connections for opportunities to play outside the MeetUp.

Dennis and Tracey will be running adventures.

If you ever have questions Jim, Tracey, or I are always willing to help.

Roll a 20,
Dennis

Thanks everyone I had a great time yesterday. I especially want to thank Dan and Trace for making everyone fell at home. Dennis great job of DMing. Hope to see everyone again next month.

First time I've ever been involved in a "Good Cop, Bear-Suit Bad Cop" situation. Hope it wasn't the last. Great table :)

SUCH a good time, y'all! We've got the best group of players anywhere, from the novices to the adepts; whether you're a long-time expert, haven't played for years, or have never even picked up a d20, you'll fit right in.

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to make it, but couldn't get to a computer soon enough to change my RSVP.

Awesome group of people! Extremely welcoming, and work very well with inexperienced players. Can't wait to play with everyone again.

Darn, I was going to buy some alcohol at 12 and bring it. :)

    • Dennis

Scott, the DM's bring everything you need except food and drink. However, you can bring dice, pen, paper or a favorite miniature. Sometimes experienced players may bring a character after discussing with DM.

Sorry. Although I want to, I can't make it this time. Have fun!

    February 5

    • Butch

Yay! Unless it's full, I can make it again!

      AWESOME!!

  • Tony P.

Sorry I had to drop out but I have to take care of somethings on the domestic front.

  • Christopher

Because the plans have changed and I this will be my first meeting how should I prepare? What will we be playing and is there anything I should bring (i.e. snacks or drinks)?

    February 1

    • Tracey

Whoops - hit Enter too soon! There is almost always at least one Pathfinder / D&D 3.5 game, and typically an adventure of another system, too. The DMs always supply pre-gen characters, so there's no need to really prepare anything.

... and Tracey is a great GM. Watch out for the bats though. Plus, they have an awesome self-made table top dungeoneering kit.

I will probably need a ride. Can anyone assist, please? I'll most likely be in Ann Arbor (alternate is Ypsi). Thanks!

    • Tracey

I"ve not heard of that one before… What's it like?

      January 20

    • Zack C.

Its a universal rules system that works for pretty much any tone or setting.

  • Christopher

I am very interested in DMing. It's been some time since I've played though.

  • Lynne

I would be very interested in attending a DM workshop but would hate to give up an opportunity to play as I feel I am learning just as much from being active in a game. Any suggestions or workshops outside the monthly game meet?

    January 12

    • Laura M.

Agreed. Can't play/run and attend workshop at the same time. Would definitely like to do both.

      January 12

  • Lynne

I'm looking very forward to this as I am truly enjoying this particular group!!
    See y'all real soon!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
