My first experience with a pen and paper RPG was a 4th edition D&D Encounters game that I played a pre-generated character in. It wasn't that remarkable, but it got me interested in the table top version of D&D.
Nowadays I like a high fantasy setting with a diversity of sub-settings. A structure I am particularly fond of is a great Empire with a few very high-magic cities but that is mostly comprised of "common" keeps and towns. Magic should be like technology; even when it becomes highly advanced there are still people that do not "need" it and therefore just don't care enough to have it.
I enjoy RPGs in general, whether on the computer or at the table.
