I'm looking to take a break from online gaming and make a new attempt to start up a table top game in the North East. I'm interested in running a classic basic D&D or AD&D (1st edition) game. Players have a love/hate relationship with the old rules, sometimes arguing that demi-human level caps make it less fun. I'm looking at it tho, and there's a definite reason they're capped. The old game has an unusual sort of balance to it, and a ton of fun options and tools to use to allow those capped characters to shine. I'll shape the game to suit the players at the table with appropriate challenges to suit player interests. Remember, the old rules played the DM more as judge though, and sometimes role-playing mishaps or poor decisions have consequences no dice roll can repair.
Nonsmoking table, though a smoking area will be designated. Prefer non-evil group, but don't mind chaotic or neutral characters who walk the line a little. A little not-so-niceness keeps the game fun. I have one set of the required old edition rulebooks, but can help players find a copy if they want to obtain their own.
