Movie and group was excellent, but felt sad for those who arrived late.
Will definitely meet again with the group.

The people were wonderful, although I was disappointed with the size of the room. Good thing I arrived at 6:30! Now, only if I knew the pronounciation of Romana's full name..............

Thanks again to all the organizers and fellow Whovians for this event and for making an out-of-towner feel welcome.

Hope everybody enjoyed it. Due to the large number of reservations you all were expecting I went with a back up pland and watched it at Battles and Brews in Marrietta. Hope to attend at UNIT met up in the future .

Greetings and Salutations all! I'm visiting Atlanta for work this weekend and plan on coming out this Saturday to meet people. What is the best way for a non-driving non-native to get to where this will be? I'm staying at the Marriott Marquis on Peachtree (always makes me think of Dredd) Street. Are there any locals nearby who might assist a fellow Whovian with transport? Vashta Nerada need not apply. ;-)

Salutations Mr. Gertz. Slight change of plans. I won't need a ride over to Manuels but I look forward to meeting you this evening. Allons-y! :-)

      Ok! See ya!

What time will the room be open for this? I plan on arriving eating dinner first.

    ALL,
Space is limited. I'm so sorry but at this point I'm going to have to institute a first come first seating policy. I hoped we could all fit in the Eagle's Nest (actually I wanted The North Avenue Room when I booked 3 months ago) but the staff insisted on giving us the Eagle's Nest....

    i.e. Arrive Early!!!

    November 22, 2013

    • Liz

It's still at Manuels right? I'd hate to not have a seat after taking the night off from work.

      November 22, 2013

    • Keith

      YES, again please arrive early!!!

      November 23, 2013

  • Liz

Now I just need to avoid all Doctor Who before 8pm!

  • Mark H.

Just found out yesterday I'm going to have to work overtime at work on Saturday, so it looks like I won't be able to attend after all. :(

Okay, this being said, one of our prizes - tix to the REAL3D motion picture release at AMC Parkway Pointe[masked] Cobb Pkwy.

    November 18, 2013

    • Keith

      Several tix :)

The rabbit that 10 talks to will look really great in 3D :)

Just a thought: I think it'd be great, since it is the 50th anniversary and all, if those who enjoy costuming/cosplaying would come decked out in their favorite costume. Obviously no requirement, since not everyone costumes, but it might be fun to have some Doctors and Companions on hand. I'd be up for it, anyone else?

    November 17, 2013

    • Keith

AWESOME IDEA MARK! I agree, come in costume peps, only if you'd like!

Is this the same event as the "Nerd Fun - Atlanta" meetup? I RSVP'd to both.

    November 15, 2013

    • Keith

      Yep, no worries though.

Are little Whovians (7 & 9) ok to bring along? Looking forward to Saturday!

    November 17, 2013

    • Keith

      Yes.

  • Roy G.

Are there any gatherings at any of the movie theatres that are showing the simulcast at 2:50?

    November 18, 2013

    • Mark H.

The only movie theater in Atlanta that's showing the simulcast on Saturday is located in Fayetteville, and I think it is sold out. At the very least, you can't buy tickets for it through the Fathom Events website.

Every other theater in the Atlanta area is showing the Day of the Doctor on Monday, the 25th. I know one group has organized a meetup for the Monday showing at the Hollywood 24 in Chamblee, but outside of that I don't know of any organized meetups for any of the theater showings.

      November 18, 2013

    • Roy G.

Ok, when I first glanced at the list, I thought there were other theatres going for the 23rd, but I guess BBC America is trying to keep the advertisers happy.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'll be in Atlanta for a conference. Is anyone passing near the Atlanta Marriott Marquis that could give me a ride?

My travel plans have unfortunately changed, and I won't be able to come. I'm so bummed about not being able to watch the 50th with a group.

      November 15, 2013

  • Jonathan M.

Does anyone know where I can watch Season 7 Part two without having to pay iTunes or Amazon? I'd like to catch up before the Day of the Doctor. They're not on Hulu or Netflix.

    October 21, 2013

    • Laura

Daily motion! Awesome resource for Doctor Who. I've been watching from the beginning to get ready for the 50th anniversary special.

Daily motion is a great suggestion for new and old episodes! Also, great for Blake's 7 and Doctor Who spin-off movies!

Mark, i'm quite sure many know of this event and as you know, you and the TimeGaters are always welcome...:)

    October 12, 2013

That goes for the Gallifreyans as well...

I'm a Timegate staff member, and I can assure you that Timegate staff are well aware of the UNIT event.

I will be attending the UNIT event myself, and I'm looking forward to it...:)

    October 12, 2013

  • Lewis

I will probably miss this, since TimeGate is planning an event the same day. If I can manage both, I'll try to make it.

    October 11, 2013

Planing to be there and enjoy the show with the group.

    1 · September 21, 2013

Looking forward to this. I can't watch the live simulcast on Saturday afternoon, so it'll be fun to watch the "Day of the Doctor" with some fellow Whovians on Saturday evening!
