Habitat for Humanity

Our site address is 2606 Hemphill St, Charlotte 28203 (yes, the same place we roofed last month).

We are on schedule to paint.  In addition to the info below, you might want to bring an old hat.  (I've done a lot of painting, and some always seems to get in my hair.  May just be a personal issue, but thought I'd pass along the suggestion.)

A liability waiver is required for everyone on the job site.  I will email a link tonight to the current RSVP's and wait list since I can't seem to embed a link in this post.

As space is limited at the job site, please only attend if you are a cofirmed RSVP as of this coming Friday night, March 8.  There will be another HOPE - Habitat event in May or June, so there will be other opportunities.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or post your question on MeetUp - if you have a question, other people may as well.

Thank you, and get ready to roll on Saturday...

Hello HOPE Project -

Habitat for Humanity SWAT Team

Age 16 & Up (if 16-17, need waiver from parents)

Task assigned to us right now is Painting in zip code 28208.  This could change.  Final details to be sent March 5th.

Habitat will provide all required equipment, such as eye protection, hard hats and equipment & supplies to to do the job.  If you have your own safety equipment, feel free to bring it.

Suggested items to bring:

KNEE PADS - We found out at our last event that knee pads may come in handy.  You can pick up a $5.00 pair at most hardware stores that are basically strap-on foam pads.

WORK GLOVES - Gloves are also something you may want to bring if you have them.

DUST / PAPER MASK - I'm not sure if Habitat will provide these or not.  I will try to find out, or if someone wants to volunteer to pick some up for the group, great!

WATER & LUNCH - A water cooler may be on site.  Suggest bringing your own as well, and if desired, bring your lunch.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  More details to come, closer to the event, including location address and a link to the Habitat liability waiver.

Happy Habitating!  See you soon!

Wonderful time. Looking forward to more Crisis Assistance Ministry and Habitat! Habitat is a project I wanted to work with for many years, but you guys made it very easy. It's also harder to find them where I come from!! ;) Love the Project! :/D

Special thanks to Alicia, Sam, Deja and Kris for coming out today for our Habitat event. Pictures are posted online. We caulked, painted and even helped lift rafters and gables for the house next door. You never know what you'll be doing when you get to a Habitat site. There will be another HOPE coordinated Habitat event in the May-June time frame.

Where are The HOPE Project members? Please let me know if you are not coming. No one from our group is on site yet, so if you are on the waiting list and still want to come, we may need your help. Also is a 2nd site next to ours.2606 Hemphill

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
