Its time for Santa and Mrs. Claus to make their annual visit to Salvation Army Center of Hope Women's and Children's Shelter and they need our help to make this event a success! Last year we had close to 150 children attend, we expect as many or more this year.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at 6:30pm, the event will start at 7pm. We will initially be setting up and taking inventory of supplies and people in the reading room that is adjacent to the cafeteria. When the residents are done with their meal and cleanup we will enter the cafeteria and the race will be on to set everything up!
There will be photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus by Ken, Santa's Helper Kelly and her team will hand out toys, Lisa and the Craft Crew will be helping the kids decorate stockings and Chris and the Cookie Angels will be making sure everyone gets snacks and drinks.
Additionally we will have the magician Eric Treese strolling to entertain people and Rob Muhlstein will be the very merry DJ in charge of pumping out all of our favorite Holiday tunes.
We have many items in need of being donated, please refer to our websites discussion board to read the HOLIDAY NEEDS PLEASE HELP message to see what is needed and who to contact to make donations.
Children 5+ are welcome to attend this event but please keep in mind that this is an extremely hectic environment and use your best judgement in bringing them. Also, if you do plan to bring a child, be sure to include that in your RSVP.
We expect to have a full house of volunteers and a waiting list so if your plans to attend change be sure to change your RSVP on the site so that someone else may participate in your place.
See you all soon and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
