The rest of the country may be knee deep in snow but dotNet Miami will be bringing the heat this month. Threading is an important concept in .Net and has grown considerably over the years. This month, Erez Testiler will share with us how threading has evolved in the .Net Framework and how the latest changes to threading may be the most important changes yet. He'll also show us how easy it is now to use threading in our applications. Then Jeremy Miranda will show us a powerful web application testing framework called WatiN that you can use in your automated testing scenarios.
We're also happy to announce that we'll be meeting at Right Space 2 Meet. Right Space 2 Meet is a cowork facility that provides a collaborative community and a professional environment for entrepreneurs, freelancers and business professionals. It offers fully furnished offices, virtual offices, coworking spaces, conference facilities and event spaces. Right Space 2 Meet is located at 100 Miracle Mile Suite #200 in Coral Gables.
We will also be giving away more books, swag, and more one-month subscriptions to PluralSight.
Because we don't want the fun to stop when the meeting is over we'll be at Miller's Ale House on Miracle Mile (101 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables) for food and networking. All are welcome.

Threading Your Way – The Evolution of Threading in .NET
Threading has become more important than ever. Most PCs, smartphones and tablets now come with multi-core processors. Users are also expecting a much smoother user interface that doesn’t freeze or lag. Threading has always been available in the platforms we develop on top of to build better user experiences, but it hasn’t always been easy to program multi-threaded applications. Over the years, new threading methodologies and APIs have been introduced to make it easier on developers. In this talk, we navigate through the evolution of threading in .NET and see how we can leverage the new ways of building multi-threaded applications.
