State of the City 2013!

Please join Mayor Kevin Johnson, Sacramento City Council Members, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and our Emcee, Mark S Allen from Good Day, Sacramento for:

The State of the City 2013 - "Sacramento Next"

Since Mayor Johnson intially ran for office, his theme has always been "Sacramento - A City That Works For Everyone." With that in mind, for the first time the State of the City will be open for free to the General Public with the knowledge that this is a community wide event for a city that works for everyone - in fact, we expect 3000 attendees! Below is a draft agenda for the evening:

4:30PM: Doors Open at Memorial Auditorium for General Admission

5:30PM: State of the City Begins

§ Welcome by our Emcee, Mark S Allen, Good Day, Sacramento

§ National Anthem: Performed by Jackie Greene

§ Welcome by our event chair, Kathy McKim, AT&T

§ Artistic Performance

§ Video – “A Look Back at 2012”

§ Mayor Kevin Johnson’s address

§ Musical Entertainment

The evening will also include a Call to Public Action as we ask all attendees to bring a can of food for placement in the barrels of the River City Food Bank and the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. These cans will be given to needy families in our community during this winter season. And ALL net proceeds from this event will be distributed to local charities.

I may not make it, running late. I wish I could say I'm tied up on business in Europe, but that wouldn't be accurate. I'm in town just lagging behind. See you at torch club for State of the City chatter.

I am volunteering, so won't be able to meet the group... @ray, it goes until 7 pm, so you'll catch the last hour. The local news/talk radio stations will recap what you missed!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
