Movie: Philomena

A moving, and often funny film about an Irish woman looking for the son she was forced to give up at birth. After fifty years of searching, Philomena solicits the help of a cynical journalist. Judi Dench gives a touching performance as the long-suffering, but ever-optimistic mom and Steve Coogan complements her perfectly with his inimitable dry manner. Stephen Frears (The Queen) directed.

Excellent. It gives a chilling perspective of the Catholic church just as the "Magdalene Sisters"did.

Hope y'all enjoyed it as much as I did (on Tue), after which I had lots of questions, some of which were answered by http://TheGuardian.com/lifeandstyle/2009/sep/19/catholic-church-sold-child

Sorry, gang, but the The History of Future Folk is showing there just once that eve. I'll say hello in the lobby. Enjoy Philomena!
