Sorry guys, can't make it. Sadly I've been in Toronto all week for work but I have to catch the bus back to Barrie soon. Have fun!

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend. That said, have we nailed anything down re: venue? Friday is fast approaching. I can do some legwork if need be.

Any way we can make it the Bier Markt at the Esplanade? I am familiar with the area and there is a ton of parking close by.

Checkmark next to Bier Markt for me, too.

I'll be in Toronto on the 25th to get my tattoo done, and prob go back on the 31'st if anyone wants to say hello!

Dude, Let's finally get together. Where are you getting your ink done?

Also another note: Mill St. Brewery says:

For reservations of 15 or more there is a minimum spend on food and beverages and a deposit required to secure. The same timing policies also apply whether it is a group of 5 or a group of 50. Unfortunately for this large of a group we cannot accept a regular reservation without the contract/deposit, etc to secure the booking of so many tables.

I've been to both C'est What and Caplansky's - I think C'est What may be more the atmosphere we're after but both are good. I'm more interested in meeting you all than the venue, ultimately.

I think we're all in agreement that people > venue/food.

The hardest thing to balance is going to be finding a place where we can have good conversation. Most venues get pretty noisy, especially on a Friday night.

Dave's suggestion of a patio might be beneficial in more ways than one. Being outdoors, it's generally a lot quieter than being crammed inside a pub.

Just wanted to chime in - what about having it at C'est What? Very spacious bar, offers great pub food and a wide selection of beer.

I figure the utility is in going something casual over drinks and socialize to meet up with other dribbblers as well.

Oh, it's in downtown Toronto in St. Lawrence market, not too far from the Distillery District.

    ###UPDATE###

I have been talking with Mill St Brewery. I am currently chatting with one of there Event Organizers and they have given me the following information.

We can either just go for beer/dinner or we could have a Brewmaster tour and tasting. The cost for the Brewmaster tour and tasting is $300+HST and the sample trays are in addition to this, they are $7.12 per person plus tax and gratuity. Does anyone have any interest in the Brewmaster tour and tasting?

I'm pretty pumped for this. Wonder if we can get a sponsor to buy us free booze ;)

I don't think they'd be thrilled about sponsoring an event at another brewery.

I can make it any other of those days. I'm in Ottawa for business the weekend of the 27th. I did the poll thing but either the 13th or 20th work. Also, is anyone else going to FITC Toronto this year?

I?m still a mere follower? invites before meetups? Meetups for invites?

Posted by David Owen M. April 14, 2011
    • Adam K.'s Photo

The more people the better I say. If anything, I would rather give an invite to someone that I know, or comes to a meetup.
