SO COME JOIN US AND INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!!!

FINAL UPDATE: 9/2/11

We have a great turnout of members from 4 Groups coming tomorrow -- 150 AS OF THIS MOMENT -- and I wanted to post a few suggestions to make the day run smooth for everyone.

Be sure to check the annotated photos below for our exact location. WE WILL BE BETWEEN LIFEGUARD TOWERS 51 AND 52 RIGHT IN FRONT OF PARKING LOT #4

WE WILL HAVE A 10x10 BLUE CANOPY SET UP AND A MEETUP SIGN BESIDE IT

ARRIVE EARLY FOR THE BEST PARKING AS IT IS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND - PARKING IS $10

VERY IMPORTANT: When you park in the Dockweiler Beach parking lot, PARK HEADING IN ONLY!!!  LAPD WILL WRITE YOU A CITATION .   The only place they post it is at the entrance but they will cite you regardless!

AS A REMINDER - PLEASE POST ON YOUR RSVP COMMENTS, WHAT YOU WILL BE BRINGING AS A SIDE DISH TO SHARE

THE GRILLS WILL LIGHT UP AROUND NOON AND WE WILL BE GRILLING UP CHICKEN, HAMBURGERS AND HOT DOGS.

Optional to bring

You provide your own beverages and any snacks.

If you want lettuce, tomato, onions, or cheese on your burger, please bring it with you.

We are supplying all the condiments. We will also be supplying bottled water.

Feel free to bring any food that you want to cook over the bonfire on a skewer (and what you need for cooking those items). For those that want to be nostalgic, bring a wire coat hangar for roasting your marshmallows (no short bamboo skewers unless you want to roast your arm or singe your hair too)

BE SURE YOU BRING

SUNSCREEN LOTION

A BEACH TOWEL

SUNGLASSES

A HAT IF YOU BURN EASY

A SWIM SUIT IF YOU ARE GOING IN THE OCEAN

A BEACH CHAIR OR TOWEL TO SIT ON

A PERSONAL COOLER TO KEEP YOUR DRINKS IN

A FLASHLIGHT OR LANTERN FOR TRIPS TO THE RESTROOM AT NIGHT

A JACKET AND WARM CLOTHING FOR AT NIGHT - AS IS WILL GET CHILLY

What else could we use???

FIREWOOD!!

If any of you have any scrap wood or fire logs sitting around, bring them!!!

I have ordered a 1/4 Cord of firewood which should keep us lit up nice, but it never hurts to have more wood than you need!!!

BRING (for benefit of everyone):

- Coolers

- Ice

- Musical instruments --you guitar and drum players know who you are ;)

- music (Ipods and players)

- folding chairs (for yourself)

- folding tables (for set up of food items)

- trash bags/grocery bags for clean up of trash

- flashlight

- solar powered light stakes (short knee high type light sources) or anything that could go in the sand to light up the area around the fire

- camera -- for the beautiful sunset on the water (especially if you have a strong flash for the night shots)

OR ANYTHING ELSE I FORGOT TO MENTION......

Please bring exact cash with you to the beach upon your arrival. AFTER YOU PAY, YOU WILL GET A WRISTBAND AS YOU RECEIPT. The money collected will be used to cover the cost of all the food provided, firewood, fire starter, fixings for s'mores, long telescoping metal skewers, solar powered light stakes, paper goods.... etc., etc.

------------------------------------------------------------------

We will be bringing a volleyball net so we can play volleyball throughout the day.

In addition to being a beach party, we will also be barbecuing.  We will have a couple of grills to cook whatever members may want to bring to eat.

For food, we will be supplying chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs.  Also buns and condiments!  If there is any other main dish that you want, bring it, and we will BBQ it up for you!

We will be supplying plates, cups, napkins, utensils, propane gas, charcoal, bottled water, marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate, graham crackers, and firewood.

We will be collecting $5 from everyone in attendance to cover the cost of the food and supplies and save you the trouble of bringing them.

Everyone should bring a small side dish to share with the group, such as salad, potato salad. desserts, chips ..... etc.

We will be meeting at the fire pits in front of Parking Lot #4.  Depending on attendance, we will have 1 or 2 fire pits.  Look for the shade canopy with the Meetup sign on it.

The Sunsets at Dockweiler Beach are beautiful

At dusk we will start a bonfire, and serve up marshmallows, and S'mores over the open fire.

WE WILL BE UPDATING THIS EVENT OFTEN - SO BE SURE TO CHECK BACK FOR ANY UPDATES.
