That's right we are going back to Warszawa.
The last time we (Randy and I) had a party here we squeezed more than 330 people into this venue for an All-U-Can Drink New Years Eve Party in[masked] (Click Here for Album 1 and Album 2), it was literally madness! That starts a long story which you can read about in my upcoming book, DWS - No Holds Barred! We also enjoyed an End of Summer Mixer at Warszawa in the fall of 2007 which was quite fun.
Seriously, we are happy to re-visit Wasrzawa's Courtyard under the tent, in the back of the venue. It is a cute place, with a moderate amount of seating, full bar, drink specials, and awesome food. The staff, which includes Vincent and Al whom remember that party in 2007 quite well are welcoming us in afterwork at 6PM, and we'll party till about 11-Midnight.
We are planning a fun Mixer, and inviting about 100 DWSers to join us. As you may notice we are charging $10.00 per person, all of this money will be donated to CDC the morning of August 18th.
About the $10.00 donation
As many of you already know, I'm an RN, and I take two weeks out a year to to some sort of Medically related volunteering. This year I am heading back to CDC, along with DWSers Howard and Amy. CDC is a Camp based in Catalina which brings kids 7-17 with some sort of Heart Related Disorder together in a safe environment for 3 sessions of 5 days a piece to do all the fun things camp has to offer and to integrate the children so they can build friendships with other kids whom can relate to their condition.
It is a wonderful experience to help and watch the kids at camp, and I am hapy to go back as a mednurse.
The camp is free for the 450 kids, and survives do to many sponsors throughout Los Angeles, as they have multiple fundraising events.
Now until September 4th, actor Tom Arnold is sponsoring a Giving Challenge Event to match a mere $7,500.00
I-personally have a giving challenge of $1,200 from this function. Lets make it happen.
So your $10.00 entry to the mixer will be forwarded entirely to the CDC organization.
The morning after the party, Howard, Amy and I will be going for our orientation for camp and I will be handing them a check for $200.00 of my own money and whatever I collect this week from kind DWSers like yourself.
For those of you who donate, I will personally be sending photo/email updates while I am at camp, I will also forward a list of our donating DWSers to the camp organizers for recognition.
The bar has kindly agreed to give us drink specials from 6PM-10PM as below:
$4.00 Well Drinks
$1.00 off Beers
and likely we will order some sort of appetizers for our early crowd.
As you can see I have left the RSVP open to whomever would like to sign up, but the first 100 paid RSVPs will be guaranteed entry into the function.
I would definately accept larger paypal amounts for the camp and all of your payments will be listed below as they come in.
Parking at Warszawa
There is limited parking behind Warszawa, but entensive street parking on Lincoln and the surrounding streets.
See you this Friday for Drinks and Mixing :-)
And, thank you so much for your help.
