The oaks are on the SW corner of NE 67th and 12 Ave NE, and in the zone of of Roosevelt Station, the planned underground facility for the light rail line. There is more information and a diagram of the station's location on Sound Transit's web site at: http://projects.soundtransit.org/Projects-Home/North-Link/Roosevelt-Station.xml

What is the reason they posted? Redoing the sidewalks? I have seen a lot of those lately and have been calling in, asking for more creative ways to build the sidewalks around/over tree roots.

Greetings all This just in from Ruth: HELP SAVE TWO WONDERFUL
OLD OAKS

Sound transit posted "removal" notices for 2 wonderful oaks on
my street. It is for the staging area for the bus tunnel which will be across
the street. They are on the sidewalk and should be kept. They are aged,
beautiful, and special trees.

Please email, write, or call sound transit
and ask for an extension on the comment period on this (currently
10/28-11/10)

Please come to the meeting at Roosevelt HS 11/3, 6-8:30 and
voice your support to keep the trees.

Please share this
widely.

Let me know how we can get press involved
