The first outdoor drum of the summer!
Dear Drummers of Life and Spirit,
If you ever feel like you might be crazy, this Friday's drum is for you. If you are filled with love for this earth, and you feel powers emanating from nature, and you want to go deeper into those powers - and you worry that all of this may mean you are crazy, this Friday's drum is for you.
If you've have been through (or are in) a "rough spot," particularly one with anger or shame involved, this Friday's drum is already set in motion to offer you healing.
If you want to open your three-day weekend, want to begin summer, with some outdoor drumming Wahoo, this Friday's drum is definitely for you.
The drum will take place in South Minneapolis, at the southeast corner of the Lake Harriet Rose Garden, 42nd and Dupont Ave South.
We will be nestled inside a dreamy, quite private, grove of cedar trees, a sacred spot that has brought a great deal of comfort and healing to me for years. I'll bring some blankets and a couple of chairs, but please consider bringing something to sit on. The weather looks to be dry for a couple of days before, and perfect on Friday.
The cedars are a gentle but powerful healing tree, full of forgiveness. This grove is very enthusiastic about helping you if you need it, or just reminding you to be joyful. I'll have more to say about that later in the week, but for now, know that whether you want to exhale and have fun, or you want to dispel some heavy energies, Friday's drum is designed for you.
I leave you with this:
How I become hyacinth
How I become daffodil
How I become hosta
How I become sedum
easily divided easily rooted
How I become the two tone
whistle chirp in that far off oak
How I become something you never planted
How I green from brown
How I heave up your mulch
and crawl to you in your winter slumber
How I spring from pruned branches
How I become again the weeds you poisoned
How I emerge out of dead vines
How the longer you know me the bigger I grow
How you think you can cultivate me
How long it takes you to see
How I become you.
See you Friday!
