Jennifer: Based on your question about wearing a baby backpack. I would like to recommend two groups to you: Phoenix (2-Hour) Beginner Hikers: I have hiked with mothers caring their kids with this group. San Tanners : Which is not very active right now (this is temporary) but often does easier hikes on our side of town.

If you can't make it to Comedy Night, we have bowling the second Friday of this month. Also, I can direct you to a single parenting class on Sunday mornings, but it is at N. Phx Baptist Church in central Phx. It is a very helpful, fun, and supportive group.
