Drumming for Day Of The Dead Procession SAT-Nov 3 2012

Day of the Dead 8th Annual Celebration will start at 11 am - 10 pm  NOVEMBER  3rd., 2012

Parade of Drums for this year's Dia de Muertos - Mexican Celebration - Day of the Dead is November 3rd, a Saturday, we are planning the Parade of Skulls & Skeletons the same day at 3:30 p.m.

Hector Castellanos/Visual Artist (for info call[masked]) a co-ordinator, has invited the CleDrum Circle to participate in the procession, down Detroit Avenue again this year!!! We will meet in the Parish Hall parking lot and gather to play before and during the procession. Costumes, masks and face painting are encouraged. Face painting is available in the Parish Hall. Skulls and skeletons are the theme. Bring drums and percussion that you can walk with and play. Dancers are welcome also!!! This is a family event and has grown in attendance every year! The chapel and back church yard will have installations by area artists. Food and entertainment will be available in the Parish Hall, also. See last year's 2011 photos on Meet Up for ideas. FREE and hope to see you there!!!

Just alittle upset...I attempted to come enjoy this event...But on the Meet-up the location was W 54th Street...However, upon returning home, to double check the location. I made a phone call only to find out the gathering was on Detroit Ave. I am disappointed mostly because, I also had my 4 year old grandson, who was all dress for the occasion...I had to take him home in tears, because we were at W 54th. According to the Meet-Up location. Quite disappointed, the procession was over, and I had a little boy who wanted to know why, with tears...Had no good answers for him...I just don't get it...Usually, the Meet-Ups are so acurate...Mary Silvers

Be aware that the weather has been dry, sunny, but cool in the past. Gloves, coats or layers may be neccessary. This has been a fun event for us the last 4 years!!!
