hi all -- I've been slowly re-introducing myself into society --
thanks for all the messages of support! My surgery indeed went well,
though I still need another month for the reconnected fracture to take
hold -- plus, part of my face is still very numb (then again, it
continues to tingle, which is a great sign). (If you've recently
joined the group, you might not have seen the news -- I had been
mugged in July and succeeded in colliding with a sidewalk when I
attempted to chase the guy down -- actually, it took me three falls
until I decided I had had enough...it's a long story :-)
I'm forbidden from lifting anything heavy or bulky, though it's
possible I can drum in another week (assuming I don't carry
anything--I can't even hit a cowbell, since the stick could feasibly
bounce back into my face--this is obviously making me NUTS). Once I've
had a chance to check with my doctor next week, I'll know better about
what I can and can't do during the rest of my recovery.
In the meantime... Ben Beevers has this drumming weekend...this
weekend (in which I would have been leading parts of it...*sigh*).
Drumming also continues at
http://www.monroe... in the
"Roundhouse" each Wed in the evening.
So...thanks again for being patient with me, especially with e-mails I
haven't answered yet. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again!
