Drum/Dance at Yoga Shala (N. Williams)

Greetings movers, shakers 'n all ye rhythm-makers!

Bring your drum
And your restless feet
As one we become
Hearts shall open and meet

Tap your fingers
And sway to the beat
As the rhythm rises and lingers
Together we feel more complete

Come alone or bring your friends. You don't have to be a drummer to come; come just to watch or listen. And if you're a drummer, all skill levels are welcome. And feel free to bring other acoustic instruments -- didjridoo, flute, guitar, harmonica, whatever.

Microphones and PA will be available for people who would like to sing or for use with other soft instruments.  We will also have a few 'Toyboxes' full of other percussive noise-toys and some extra drums for sharing.  If you have extra instruments to share, please bring them.

As for dancing, you DO NOT need to be a trained dancer (although we do have those from time to time) to get up and move to the beat. As long as YOU are having fun dancing, anything goes.

It's great to see the drummers, didj players, and dancers all playing off of each other.

Don't be a spectator, PARTICIPATE. YOU are the show!

KIDS ARE MOST WELCOME!!

Please support our use of Yogashala space with a suggested donation of $2.00.

Becca, that could be arranged if there was good WiFi around Yoga Shala, though you would be dancing in the morning and in the next day!

I have only been to one circle with this group and look forward to coming again this Friday. I am bringing a couple of new people and was wondering if there might possibly be a couple of extra drums or low profile percussion instruments on hand if they don't have anything?

Hoping I can come. Will be after class, and would be transporting my drum from there. Anyone know if there is room to bring a bike inside and set it off to the side?

Adam, I don't think the studio will allow people to bring their bike in, but I'm sure there are plenty of bike racks outside. Where is your class and such? Sometimes people are able to carpool by posting the details here and asking for the help. Doesn't hurt to try ;^)

I've seen bikes parked in front of the bathroom in the hallway inside the building, but not in Yoga Shala. Take the side intrance to the left of the Yogas Shala entrance.
