The Project Leader for Web Development Services will perform a leading role in shaping the online presence for Penn's School of Arts and Sciences. S/he will support online communications that reflect the excellence of our faculty, students, academic and administrative programs. The position requires strong technical skills, especially with the Drupal content management system, and a record of successful project management. Activities for this position fall into two general areas:

1) Manage web development projects for academic departments, programs and centers. In this capacity, the Project Leader will be responsible for building and maintaining sites in the Drupal content management system. S/he will work with customers to assess needs, prepare project plans, and track performance over time. Activities include technical work building and maintaining sites (developing themes & style sheets, data models, content types, views, etc.) as well as coordinating work performed by others (graphic design, content migration, security reviews, etc.)

2) Serve as administrator for the School's main web site (­) and online magazine (­. The Project Leader will prepare audio, video and interactive multimedia content for these sites, analyze usage and performance, and contribute to creative discussions on developing other special features for the site. Content is developed with Flash and HTML 5 and integrated into a Drupal framework.
The position involves dual reporting relations to SAS Computing (the School's main IT organization) and External Affairs (the main communication group). All work is carefully coordinated to assure efficient work flows, compliance with technical standards, and appropriate use of branding and identity elements.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in related application or function area or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with project management, building and administering sites in HTML and Drupal required; experience with Javascript, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, HTML 5 and video editing software highly preferred. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills along with a proven ability to be self-motivated, develop and adhere to project plans, and work effectively as a team member.
